Each year volunteers provide a total of over 30,000 hours in more than 35 different areas or departments. Each and every volunteer is part of the Saint Joseph Hospital team, and without them this would not be a functioning hospital. Volunteers are an essential service to this hospital and we are very grateful to anyone who can lend a hand. Whether it is every day or just a few hours each week, your help is always needed and appreciated. Here are just of a few of the many service areas where you can help: Information Desk Providing information to patients, visitors, and families make this department a vital resource to the hospital. Gift Shop Provides a convenient and attractive shop for patients, visitors, and employees. Patient Visitor Making sure our patients feel comfortable for their entire stay at Saint Joseph Hospital. Surgery Waiting Room Helping families by answering questions, assisting medical staff, and answering the telephone make this a busy and much needed department volunteer. Library Volunteer The Library serves both the medical staff and the community providing information to those who need it. Junior Volunteer Program This program gives students age 14-17 the opportunity to experience the joys of volunteering in many different patient areas.
